Today marked the beginning of an exciting new initiative as we welcomed Transition Year students from St. Finian’s College to our school. We are delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside our local secondary school to promote inclusion, understanding and meaningful connections within our community.
As part of the initiative, the Transition Year students will volunteer in our school one day each week. They will spend time working alongside our pupils in their classrooms, supporting them during a variety of learning activities and sharing in the many experiences that take place throughout the school day. They will also have the opportunity to accompany our students on school trips and outings, helping to create positive experiences and lasting memories together.
The first day was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get to know one another. Our visitors were warmly welcomed into classrooms and quickly became involved in the activities taking place. There were lots of smiles, shared experiences and opportunities to learn from one another.
